- Visual Identity
2025

For the creation of the visual identity of the 12th edition of Leiria Film Fest, I embraced a vibrant, playful, and inclusive approach, designed to reflect the essence of cinema as a universal art form capable of captivating audiences of all ages.
With a deliberately illustrative and “naive” aesthetic, the graphic concept developed relies on simple shapes and hand-drawn lines, simultaneously evoking the spontaneous language of children’s drawings and the classic materiality of film stock. This handcrafted aesthetic builds a bridge between the act of creating and the act of imagining — two essential gestures in both cinema and drawing.

More than an aesthetic exercise, this visual identity fulfills a symbolic function: bringing children, young people, and adults closer to the cinematic experience through an accessible and emotionally resonant graphic universe. It is a tribute to projection, the moving image, and the visual memory of cinema

In practical terms, the visual elements were designed to be versatile and scalable across different platforms — from printed materials and digital banners to festival merchandise and venue signage. This adaptability ensures that the visual identity remains coherent and impactful throughout all stages of communication.

Ultimately, this identity aspires to do more than just promote an event — it seeks to spark curiosity, foster emotional connection, and celebrate cinema’s timeless power to unite, inspire, and imagine. It invites everyone, regardless of age or background, to become part of a shared cultural experience that is as joyful as it is profound.
